Sully H.W. Bush was born on July 14, 2016. Sully is a yellow Labrador Retriever. He was the Service Dog of former United States President George H.W Bush during the last six months of his life. Sully was sworn as the president’s Service Dog at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on February 27, 2019 in Bethesda, Maryland.

Named after Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, the pilot who safely landed US Airways Flight 1549 in New York's Hudson River, Sully was assigned to President Bush through a request by George W. Bush (also a president) after the passing of former first lady, Barbara Bush. Sully was trained by the charity “America's Vet Dogs”, and is able to perform a two-page list of commands, which includes fetching items, answering a telephone, and summoning help in an emergency.

This dog captured the hearts of people last year after a photo of Sully resting near President Bush's casket at the US Capitol went viral.

Sully has started a new job with the US Navy at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center outside Washington.
